HOW TO CHOOSE LABEL PRINTER –

WHAT TYPE OF STICKERS?

There are stickers for direct thermal printers and stickers for thermal transfer printers.

Direct thermal printing labels are mainly used to print barcodes, descriptions of food products, recipients of envelopes, etc., as this printing on the label last, on average, up to one year. Thermo Eco and Thermo Top stickers are available.

The range of stickers for thermal transfer printing is much more comprehensive because, with thermal transfer, you can print as much as on any material. The most popular materials are “Semigloss” (Glossy paper), “Vellum” (matte paper) and “PP” (polypropylene), which are water-resistant labels.

WHAT PRINTING VOLUMES ARE INTENDED?

The choice of label printer model depends on the print volume. If the print volume is tiny – up to 1000 pcs / month – you can choose Brother label printers. For volumes up to 40,000 pieces / month. we recommend choosing mid-range printers. In turn, for volumes over 40,000 pieces / month. we recommend that you choose industrial-grade printers.

HOW HIGH PRINT RESOLUTION?

Just like computer monitors and TVs have a resolution, so do printers. DPI, or dots per inch, is a measure of printer resolution. Thermal printers usually have a resolution of 203 dpi, 300 dpi or 600 dpi. The 203 dpi printer is the customer’s favourite choice, as it can print even with a font size of 7 pt, which is enough for product descriptions.

WHAT COMMUNICATION CONNECTION?

Modern technology offers new possibilities for connecting devices. The printer can be connected to a computer or other device via a USB connection, WiFi network, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and more. And that’s why it’s the right way for you, depending on the specifics of your job.

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS FOR USING PRINTERS?

Before buying a printer, it is essential to understand where it is and what factors can affect it, for example, moisture, dust or any falling objects in the warehouse.

ARE ANY ADDITIONAL ACCESSORIES NEEDED?

Printers come with many accessories that can make your day-to-day work more manageable. The most commonly used are:
1. Peel-off is an accessory that removes the printed sticker from its base so that it can be immediately picked up and pasted where needed.
2. Guillotine – Used to cut the sticker immediately after printing.
3. Rewinder — Used for high-volume printing so that all printed labels are automatically rewound on a new roll immediately after printing.
